Who We Are
At Zenco Group, we are pioneers in overriding extraction—driven by innovation, rooted in infrastructure reality, and committed to replacing oil and gas without compromise. Our mission is to deliver grown alternatives that are chemically identical to petroleum products by harnessing solar-powered cultivation and marine bio-refining. We believe the future should be extraction-free, circular, and seamless—without requiring any changes to the refineries, pipelines, and systems we rely on today.
Our team brings together experts in renewable energy, marine biology, and sustainable engineering to create drop-in petroleum replacements that are not only environmentally responsible but also economically identical to fossil crude. From biocrude oil and biomethane to renewable diesel, gasoline, aviation fuel, and industrial chemicals, we produce grown alternatives that work with existing infrastructure—making extraction override both achievable and profitable.
Established in 2023 by our Founder and CEO, Sean McNeill, we began as Offshore Solar, initially focused on floating solar farms in UK waters. However, we quickly discovered that infrastructure issues connecting solar into the UK grid created significant barriers to scaling renewable energy. Rather than abandon our vision, we pivoted—using that same solar energy to power the cultivation and processing of marine crops into chemically identical oil and gas alternatives. This transformation led us through several iterations before becoming Zenco Group, a name inspired by the Kitsune—the mythical Japanese fox symbolising intelligence, adaptability, and growth. Each new capability we develop, from offshore solar to seaweed cultivation, biocrude production, and biomethane generation, represents another "tail" of wisdom and power. Now, our team focuses on phase 2 of deploying our integrated bio-refinery in the UAE, where it makes sense to harness consistent sunlight and optimal climate to grow feedstock, power production, and create petroleum-identical products.
But we're more than just a petroleum replacement provider—we're a partner in extraction override. We work hand-in-hand with clients to ensure cost certainty, supply reliability, and seamless integration with existing operations. With Zenco Group, you're not just choosing grown alternatives—you're choosing to make extraction obsolete.
Global Reach, Locally Optimised
At Zenco Group, our production strategy is built around geographic intelligence and infrastructure compatibility. We are developing a network of strategically positioned facilities designed to maximise feedstock cultivation, optimise solar-powered processing, and ensure seamless integration with existing petroleum infrastructure.
🇦🇪 Abu Dhabi, UAE – Primary Production Hub
Our first production facility is located at Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, a region renowned for its abundant year-round sunshine, optimal temperatures, and stable climate—ideal conditions for cultivating high-yield marine crops like seaweed and micro-algae. This site serves as our primary production hub, powered by integrated solar arrays and supported by our ADGM holding company structure. From here, we efficiently produce biocrude oil, biomethane, and bio-methanol for global distribution, leveraging the UAE's world-class port infrastructure and zero corporate tax environment.
🇬🇧 Humber Freeport Zone, UK – European Processing Gateway
Our second facility is under development in the Humber Freeport Zone near Immingham, one of the UK's most important industrial and maritime corridors. This 24-acre site provides direct access to European markets whilst offering Freeport customs and tax advantages. The Humber facility focuses on processing raw biocrude into refined petroleum replacements—renewable diesel, petrol, aviation fuel, and industrial chemicals—ensuring our grown alternatives meet the specific requirements of European refineries and distribution networks. We also utilise UK Export Finance to support our global expansion.
Global Expansion – Scalable Standard Sites
Our expansion strategy centres on replicable standard site configurations that integrate seaweed cultivation, algae production, biomethane generation, and biocrude processing. Each facility produces oxygen as a byproduct and incorporates CO₂-to-carbon conversion systems, creating truly circular operations. Future sites will be strategically positioned to serve regional markets whilst maintaining our core principle: chemically identical petroleum replacements that work with existing infrastructure.
Why These Locations Matter
Each site is chosen for both environmental suitability and infrastructure access. The UAE's climate maximises cultivation efficiency, whilst the UK's logistics network ensures seamless market access. Together, these facilities form a resilient, globally distributed network capable of delivering grown petroleum alternatives to existing refineries, pipelines, and distribution systems—sustainably, reliably, and without compromise.
"We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation that can do something about it."
- Barack Obama, Former US President
